Urgent – 3 Days Left to Oppose Dietitian Nutritionist Licensing Bill, A1582
Urgent – 3 Days Left to Oppose Dietitian Nutritionist Licensing Bill, A1582, and Protect Free Speech and Access to Complementary and Alternative Health Practitioners!
On Thursday, November 14, the restrictive dietitian licensing bill, A1582, is scheduled to be heard in the Senate Commerce Committee. Please Take Action, make calls to committee members asking for a NO vote, and attend Thursday’s hearing to help prevent A1582 from passing and becoming law! Despite the bill’s rewrites (details here), AB 1582 is still far from acceptable and will limit freedom of speech and freedom to access the New Jersey complementary and alternative health care practitioners of your choice. Committee member contact info will be included your Take Action confirmation email and/or you can access it here.
What: Public Hearing in Senate Commerce Committee on A1582, Dietitian Licensing bill
When: Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 1:00 PM

Attend the Hearing and Consider Testifying. Written and oral testimony is crucial to the legislative process and a great way to participate in your representative government! Commerce Committee Members need to hear from you that you want them to oppose licensing bills that inhibit a health practitioner’s free speech rights to advertise and accurately describe their nutrition-related services and training.
When you arrive, you can submit a “slip for the record” indicating your opposition for the bill and/or sign-up to provide oral testimony. If you have any questions, please contact the Senate Commerce Committee Aides, Kate Millsaps at 609-847-3700, or Laurine Purola at 609-847-3600.
Share this message with your friends, colleagues, family, and social media outlets in New Jersey so they can Take Action too! We need all the help we can get to stop this terrible bill’s momentum.
