NO LONGER ACTIVE – Bill Passed June 30, 2020

Urgent – Support FL HB 1193, Deregulating the Practice of Dietetics and Nutrition, Today!

1/30/2020 Update:  HB 1193 was Reported Favorably on 01/28/2020 by the (H) Government Operations and Technology Appropriations Subcommittee (Yeas 10, Nays 2) and is now in the (H) Commerce Committee.  Keep the Letters of Support Coming.

Please Take Action here to Support Florida House Bill 1193, the Governor’s Occupation Deregulation bill.  HB 1193 will, among other things, provide an exemption for unlicensed complementary and alternative health care practitioners to the dietitian and nutrition licensing law for certain activities under certain circumstances.  The bill is being heard today, Jan. 28, in the Government Operations and Technology Appropriations Subcommittee.

The new exemption would acknowledge the free speech rights of these non-licensed practitioners to be able to advertise and accurately describe their nutrition-related services and training without fear of being charged with practicing dietetics without a license.  See line 914 in the bill, here.

Thanks in advance for Taking Action to support HB 1193.  Together we can protect your freedom to access the Florida complementary and alternative health care practitioners of your choice!
