TIME SENSITIVE!
Support Maryland House Bill 1527
Protect access to Maryland’s complementary and alternative healers like herbalists, homeopaths, Ayurvedic practitioners, and other traditional healers.
HB1527, the Complementary and Alternative Health Care Practice Act, was introduced and will have a hearing Wednesday, March 18 at 1:00 EST in the House Health Committee.
As written, HB1527 allows unlicensed practitioners of natural healing therapies safe harbor from charges of practicing medicine without a license under certain conditions, including a list of prohibited acts.
Constitutionally, licensing is only required for occupations that present an imminent and significant risk of harm to the public. Protection for unlicensed complementary and alternative practitioners whose practices do not rise to the level of harm requiring licensure is crucial!
URGE the Committee Members to vote YES on HB1527!
