Seeking Fundraising and Development Coordinator for National Health Freedom Coalition and National Health Freedom Action

National Health Freedom Coalition (NHFC) and National Health Freedom Action (NHFA) are sister
nonprofit organizations that both work to ensure that all people have access to the health care
information, resources, practitioners, and products needed on their health journey. Their current
work focuses on legal access to alternative and natural healers, protection of choice in such medical
interventions as vaccines, and other health freedom issues. NHFC is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit,
and its work is educational. NHFA is a 501(c)(4) tax-exempt non-profit and can do an
unlimited amount of lobbying.

NHFC and NHFA are seeking a Fundraising and Development Coordinator to join NHFA’s and
NHFC’s fundraising teams with a focus on major donor giving. This person will help implement a
comprehensive, strategic fundraising plan that builds on the organizations’ past successes and that
strengthens the current fundraising program. The person will work as an independent contractor,
working initially for each organization for no more than 10 hours per week, 20 hours total, with a
starting pay in the range to $26 to $28 per hour. Future contract revisions are possible and such
revisions would be negotiated and would reflect demonstrated performance and results.

Principal responsibilities:

• Increase fundraising revenue from major donors in support of annual operating revenue goals.

• Cultivate relationships with current donors while launching a systematic initiative to identify and

contact new major donor prospects, including business leaders, foundations, corporations, and other targeted constituents.

• Meet and follow up with donors and prospects, with particular emphasis on large donors.

• Coordinate major donor efforts with the current fundraising team.

• Work with the fundraising team to develop direct mail campaigns, email campaigns, and social

media fundraising communications.

Other Fundraising Responsibilities:

      •  Work in collaboration with the marketing team, boards and staff to determine fundraising strategy and plans, including setting revenue targets.

      •  Analyze historical patterns of giving and assist in developing strategies to increase contributions and encourage new gifts.

      •  Persuasively communicate NHFC’s and NHFA’s missions and programs to existing and potential funders with well-written communications, including appeal letters, proposals, and reports.

      •  Oversee and track all donor communications.

      •  Assist Database Administrator in the maintenance of the donor database, including gift tracking, donor acknowledgment, and analytic reporting.

      •  Generate monthly and annual fundraising reports for the boards.

Marketing, Public Relations, and Social Media:

      •  Collaborate with present marketing team on conference booths, printed and online materials, volunteers, and strategies for signing up new members and subscribers. Identify and participate in opportunities for reaching people through public gatherings.

Job Skills & Qualifications

Required:

      •  Bachelor’s degree.

      •  Strong leadership skills. Ability to take initiative and work proactively, while collaborating well with senior leadership.

      •  Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail

      •  At least two years of fundraising experience, including relationships with major donors, as well as experience with online fundraising appeals and social media outreach

      •  Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including public speaking and delivering presentations

      •  An appreciation for holistic health approaches

      •  Support for the right of practitioners such as homeopaths, herbalists, and health coaches to practice

      •  An understanding of the importance of consumer rights to access this care, and to make their own choices about their health care

      •  Support for parental choice regarding their children’s health care, including regarding vaccination

This is a remote contractor position that is part-time a total of twenty hours per week, ten hours per week for each organization, NHFC and NHFA; the contractor would work with flexible hours.
