You did it – AB 546 is Scheduled for a Vote on 2/13! Now ask for a Yes Vote at Thursday’s Assembly Health Committee Exec. Session!
NO LONGER ACTIVE – Bill Not Passed Before Session Ended
Final Push Needed to Move Wisconsin’s Complementary and Alternative Health Care Access bill, AB 546/SB 492, Out of Committee!
Together we got AB 546 on the agenda for this Thursday, February 13, and now we need to make sure it gets the votes to pass out and move to the floor! If you already contacted your legislators, do it again so they know about the upcoming vote. If you still haven’t, we’re begging you for just a minute of your time to Take Action here.
If AB 546 does not pass on Thursday, then we’ll likely start all over next year (read more here)! We’d still do everything in our power to keep it alive in the Senate and get it back to the Assembly before legislative session is officially over in March but that would be a long(er) shot! Please keep the letters and calls going to WI legislators – both on and off the health committees – and stay tuned for updates (i.e., results of Thursday’s vote, any potential amendments, date of floor vote, etc.)!
This is such a crucial time for WI’s bill! Wisconsin is SO close to becoming the 12th Safe Harbor state! Thank you to everyone who has joined NHFA in getting the bill this far and who remains optimistic and active in getting it past the finish line! This proactive, solution-oriented legislation is needed to protect consumer access to unlicensed practitioners who provide complementary health care services in Wisconsin, including herbalists, traditional naturopaths, homeopaths, nutrition consultants, and many others. Take Action here.
Together we can protect complementary and alternative health care practitioners who are vulnerable to being charged criminally for practicing medicine – or another licensed health care profession – without a license. And, in turn, your right to access and utilize their wonderful healing services. Take Action now.
